Budget Friendly Package’s
The most common Funerals we arrange are still ‘bespoke funerals’, that is fully customised and personalised Funerals planned out with families. They offer a high degree of personalisation but do cost more as they require more time and effort from both the family and funeral home, typically involving 40-50 hours of work, but for the budget minded there are set budget package options.
Budget funeral packages are designed to offer a streamlined, cost-effective ways to arrange a funeral, but they come with important caveats. These packages are pre-arranged by funeral homes to cover the essentials they anticipate will be needed, helping families avoid unexpected add-ons that can inflate costs. However, the key to maximising their value is in understanding exactly what each package includes and excludes.
For instance, a family might opt for a basic package, such as an “Unattended Cremation,” which involves no family presence and is scheduled according to the crematorium’s availability. This package might seem economical, but if the family desires more personal touches, like a viewing or attendance, they may need to pay extra for these services separately. In contrast, a “Private Goodbye” package, which includes a viewing with a small group, might initially cost a few dollars more but will ultimately be more cost-effective if it aligns with the family’s wishes.
An important lesson from real-life scenarios is to compare packages comprehensively.
For example, one family found that although a budget package appeared cheaper, it excluded significant costs such as newspaper notices, doctor’s fees, and a casket. These additional expenses pushed their total cost up by another $3,000 where our package deal was $1000 more but included these things so ultimately our inclusive package was $2,000 cheaper than the other provider.
In summary, while budget packages can be a cost-effective choice, it’s essential to thoroughly review what is included and excluded to ensure the final arrangements meet all of the family’s needs and preferences.
