The three Funeral Homes in Kapiti are all members of the Funeral Directors Association of NZ, however, they do not all use the ‘Funeral Trust’ which is a pre-paid Funeral Fund that is totally FEES FREE, and provides a return to help keep up with rising costs and is totally transportable between regions should you move.
Unlike Funeral insurance, with a pre-paid funeral plan you won’t keep paying ongoing fees. With insurance often people end up paying two or three times more than what they would have paid in a pre-paid Funeral Plan. Sometimes people choose insurance as you can make regular automatic payments rather than having to come up with large lump sums.

A prepaid Funeral has a further financial benefit, with $10,000 being exempt from asset testing when assessing eligibility for long term residential care.
