Question:  What about dressing the casket like they do with military funerals?

Yeah, dressing a casket is a really good way to personalise it.
Military funerals we often have a flag right over the casket, the person’s hat is always at the top and the medals are over where the chest would be and flowers, you know, obviously in the middle or towards the feet more traditionally.
But sometimes military wasn’t all of their life, so let’s do something like half and quite often we’ll put a flag over half the casket
and have that whole sort of balance of that was their life in the military but also they had a life with family so you do something different.

But also there are hobbies that become dressing of the casket as well. I know in the Polynesian cultures they often dress the casket with all sorts of adornments and also things like if you’re in the Salvation Army, you know, it’s the same thing, that same military idea and it’s wonderful to be able to combine that with other items that personalise the funeral rather than perhaps dominating the whole thing.

So yeah, great idea but blend it in with those other really personal, flavoursome, rich ideas that make it a celebration of a person’s life.
